The Mini Cooper is almost too smart

So let me first say that I really enjoy my car. I am having a great time driving it and I love the attention that it attracts when I drive it. However (you knew that was coming) I noticed something a few weeks ago that I thought was a fluke, but then it happened again this weekend! It is a very smart and safe car. When I do not put my seatbelt on it is sure to let me know by repeatedly beeping obnoxiously until I put it on. Well it turns out the same thing happens when a passenger is riding in my car. The seats have sensors in them to let the car know someone is sitting in them and allow the beeping. Well the annoying part is that the sensor on the passenger side is a bit too sensitive. I have discovered that simply buying a 12 pack of beer and setting it in my passenger seat is enough weight to set the sensor off. Now I am all for safety, but I don’t know any friends that weight 10 lbs. I think the sensor needs to be set to at least 50 lbs or something. I mean really, does my beer have to wear a seatbelt?!
