Sean Avery, a hockey player, told the press that he was tired of other hockey players getting his “sloppy seconds”. He was referring to his ex-girlfriend Elisa Cuthbert who I guess is dating another NHLer. I mean look at this guy! He has D-bag written all over him! Here is my issue with this: Sure it wasn’t a nice thing to say, it was a funny thing to say. But the fact remains that “off-color” or not, it really isn’t something punishable by a suspension?! I think it is funny that the NHL has a reputation for their players being gentlemen and rarely in trouble or causing drama. I mean when you forget about gambling scandals, they actually are pretty under the radar. No steroids, no wife beating, no shootings in clubs. But do they really need to jump all over a kid who got dumped by a super hot actress?! I think not.
UPDATE: Sean Avery got a 6 game suspension for his not so crude remarks. I still can’t believe it…
