The 80’s are alive and well!
Cara and I are sitting in her living room on our dueling macbooks watching 16 Candles! I am throughly impressed at her ability to quote virtually the entire thing!
Man I love 80s movies. Looking back they are totally cliche and nonsensical (see Zapped! or One Crazy Summer). But they speak volumes to my generation, they were our bread and butter. Nothing beats the angst (see 16 Candles) and the glossiness of the high school party (see Say Anything) or even the rebel bully with the heart of gold (see The Breakfast Club).
All in all I am happy that I can occasionally pop in a DVD or catch one of these movies on cable (uncensored). It gives me plenty of time to laugh at the clothes or the terrible acting. But most of all I love the zany plots that comedies now days only wish they could pull off.
