You know the old saying, “A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush”? Well my blog is sort of like that bird. I sit around and think of what it would be like to be a wonderfully accomplished writer, to see my work published all over the world and enjoyed by millions. It would be a pretty good feeling I am sure, but then I think of my tiny little blog. It isn’t always the most enjoyable read, in fact sometimes (like right now) I fall into the trap of posting about myself or my feelings. But it is instant gratification, it is that bird in the hand, the now.

I was sitting around my apartment last night racking my brain trying to think of something halfway interesting to post about, to no avail. I would post about my 24hr road trip to Chicago to see LightSpeed Champion, but I think my flickr photos to the right there tell the tale. In all honesty, I find that when I read other blogs they are far more topical and interesting than I feel capable of these days.

Take for example, Cara’s Blog. My girlfriend has a great blog. While it too is personal and updated rarely, she is insightful and topical. She blogs about what she knows and what interests her. check it out and you might fall in love with goodreads.com, her latest passion.

Then look at my old buddy, Ryan McCoy’s Blog. He is always coming up with interesting pictures or zany opinions on the way of the world in the Joplin perspective. I could only hope to find crazy Mission jokes to put on my blog!

I guess at the end of the day I am not trying to drive you off to read other blogs, lord knows I crave the traffic I get here. I am just trying to find my muse again and if that means pointing out some of the other work that inspires me, then so be it.

EDIT: Cardinals Suck!
