About a month ago, Ryan told me about this journal that he got for his birthday. It was not your ordinary written journal, it was a sketch book. The rules are simple, you sketch whatever you want in the half page allotted for that particular day. The journal last for exactly one year.
As he explained it to me, I knew I had to get one. So I jumped on the net and ordered one straight away.

So it has been about a month since I started the book and I have learned a few things about myself.
The first thing is that I am not good at shading or creating the illusion of 3D. Not a huge deal as I don’t fancy myself a visual artist.
The second thing I learned is that I am not big on using color. Ryan told me all about his use of pastels and colored pencils, so I ventured to Hobby Lobby to get some extra supplies. To date I have only added color to like 3 sketches…
The third and final thing I have noticed so far is that I am random. I am sketching most times the first thing that pops in my head and I must say my head is kind of off! I have sketched a monkey, a hot air balloon, a pogo stick, a wheelchair, etc.Knowing that I have about 340 sketches left, it will be awesome to flip through it and see all the craziness that I think I know how to draw!
Whoever got this book for Ryan, I would like to thank you, b/c it has been fun for me too!
Here is a poorly snapped example of one of my pages…
