Plans are in the works to climb Mt. Yale in Buena Vista, CO with Ryan this summer. It is 14,196 ft high!
“Mount Yale was first climbed by a research team from Harvard University led by Josiah Whitney. The group named the taller Mount Harvard (14,420 ft) after their own university and the shorter Mount Yale after Whitney’s alma mater.”
It looks pretty rocky at the top because for a time students from each school would come and climb their respective school’s peak and place a rock at the top in order to make their peak higher than the others in the Collegiate Peaks area.
