PitchMan

I had some extra time on my hands this weekend and I used it to spend an incredibly wasteful amount of time in front of the television. If it weren’t for a brilliant idea such as Netflix streaming, I may never have been able to watch all 12 episodes of Pitchmen in just two days. As sad as that might seem on the surface, it was sort of inspiring.

When I was a kid I used to make little drawing of little gadgets that I wanted to invent. I lived for the science fair in grade school. I wanted to be an inventor. I guess over time that urge sort of left me, which sucks. But then I watched Anthony Sullivan and Billy Mays (R.I.P.) and all the aspiring inventors that they met with on the A&E show, Pitchmen.

I am having a renewed sense of innovation. I am looking forward to solving some everyday problems. Who knows if anything will come of it, but I do have my sketch-a-day notebook that I can use to sketch up some ideas!

It will be interesting to see how my priorities have changed since 4th grade. I will probably look to fix things that are less about getting a girl to like me, or winning at four-square. Now days it will probably be closer to curing hangovers and keeping the house clean! So if you have daily issues that you want to bring to my attention, maybe I can invent something to fix it.
